Archive for 'The Family'
We had this session scheduled for a week earlier but the Carvalho’s son got sick. You would never be able to tell that by the pictures. This family was such a joy to work with and has such a unique, natural beauty. This location shoot was very easy-going and free-spirited. I look forward to working with you guys again soon! Here are a few of my favorites from this session.
What a sweet group of kids! They all have a unique personality and a definite look of their own. David had so much fun doing this shoot and it has been a true please hearing the eewwwws and aawwwwws of this family of six as they all watched their pictures being played on a slideshow in our presentation room. Here are a few of our favorites.
The Duckett Family finally got together to find some time in everyone’s busy schedules to have a family reunion picture done. Even though they all live in the same town, when you get to that point in your lives, it is so hard to find time to coordinate. I’m glad they did, because we captured a time in their life that they will now always be able to look back on.
Fleeting Moment – To me, motherhood is an experience that is cherished by all expectant mothers and it certainly showed with Anna. She just seems so relaxed about the whole process and I am glad that I got to freeze this time in her family’s lives to enjoy for an eternity. She is a fan of the country setting and I always try to get a good feel of what a person’s interests are when deciding a location for their shoot. We met in Alvin, TX and explored a few locations in the area to find the right setting for this special event. I hope you guys enjoyed our little adventure and I can’t wait to work with you more in the future!
We found an abandoned farm house which was a little sketchy but seriously a great place with so many possibilities – here a couple from inside the main structure.
League City, Texas – I love it when someone comes to me with an idea for a shoot that I’ve never done…much less even heard of. This was the case for Samantha and her idea of a shoot with her daughters and nieces all wrapped up in three generations of wedding gowns! She wasn’t sure how we could make it happen and schedules were tight (as usual), but we made it work (obviously – shots below)! I have two children under the age of two so I know how to deal with the unexpected, but this was a shoot with four girls under the age of five! I wasn’t real sure what the day would bring, but it was surprisingly easy! I really enjoyed this shoot and look forward to working with Scott family more in the future!
Derrick’s brother is a very close friend of mine and I was very enthused to find out this beautiful couple wanted me to document the family for them! He is a fire-fighter and she is a school teacher (wow, two brave
professions I could never do). Derrick has spent time in Iraq (serving the US Marines) and I was happy to give him the military discount! We had planned an afternoon at the park and instead we got a very dreary rainy cold winter day….oh well, we made the best of it in their beautiful home!
What a great looking family! I think it’s really special to get time to stand still for people and that is exactly what photography has to offer. Jay and Tracy knew what they wanted for family photos and it was just a matter of getting good weather for the day’s shoot. Avery is so cute and I know her parents are very proud to have such a sweet person in their lives. I wish you guys all the love in the world and look forward to working with you in the future.
Hmmm, lets see…Amanda called me one afternoon saying how much she really loved Jill’s engagement shots (previous post below). We talked for quite a little while and she said something that I will never forget, “We are getting married in Napa next month.” As my mind raced with excitement she asked if she could schedule me for an engagement session. I, of course, accepted and after deciding on a date for the engagement shoot I asked her, “Well, what about the wedding. What is the date so I can see if I have it available?” Man was I disappointed to find out she had already booked and placed a retainer for a photographer at the venue in Napa (“before I met you of course”, she said).
A few weeks later I had the pleasure of meeting Amanda, Todd and her son. We had a blast out at Memorial Park in Houston (see the shots below). I saw Amanda recently at Jill’s wedding and she mentioned how she wishes she had known about me before booking the photographer for her wedding, and I responded loudly, “ME TOO!!”
Anyway, onto the photos:
