Archive for 'The Maternity'

I met these two about year ago when they first found out about the little boy soon to grace their lives.  I was looking forward to doing a maternity shoot for these two as I knew they were adventurous and would let me use my imagination for the day!  We barely made it through the mess of it all (literally)…let me explain.  We pulled into the field (see below) to check out the status and I totally got my car stuck in the mud.  So, I hopped out of the driver seat and started pushing while Charlie spun the tires for me!  Sloppy and feeling a bit embarrassed we continued on with the initial plan and got some great shots in the mud!  Anyways, to make a long story short on the way back to our gallery (hours later) it was getting late and dark so I might have been speeding a little.  Good thing we had a pregnant woman with us as i think this is what helped the cop in his decision to just give me a warning – yeah that’s right we got pulled over!!  It was fun, exciting and never dull.  Thanks guys for hanging in their.  I think the results were worth action.

Fleeting Moment – To me, motherhood is an experience that is cherished by all expectant mothers and it certainly showed with Anna.  She just seems so relaxed about the whole process and I am glad that I got to freeze this time in her family’s lives to enjoy for an eternity.  She is a fan of the country setting and I always try to get a good feel of what a person’s interests are when deciding a location for their shoot.  We met in Alvin, TX and explored a few locations in the area to find the right setting for this special event.  I hope you guys enjoyed our little adventure and I can’t wait to work with you more in the future!

We found an abandoned farm house which was a little sketchy but seriously a great place with so many possibilities – here a couple from inside the main structure.

Well this one was a no brainer….my wife and two boys (one in the womb)!  We have a great little hidden gem of a sandwich shop out in a little town called Alvin (it’s where Nolan Ryan is from).  While driving out there to eat we would always pass this field that just looked so amazing!  We had always wanted to shoot this location and I figured why not use my three favorite people as my subjects…no really Voula wouldn’t leave me alone about it and I finally found time in our busy schedule to get it done.  Believe it or not but she is 8.5 months pregnant at the time I took these.  I took so many shots that day but I picked a few from my favorite’s folder for you to enjoy!

I really wish I had the opportunity to document more expecting mothers.  For some reason, it’s tough to get these scheduled but for the ones I have done, the mothers keep telling me how much they cherish them.  Voula is 32 weeks here:
